Trevor Fairlie

Board Member

Trevor Fairlie is a lawyer called to the Bar of Ontario and an emerging corporate governance expert. A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, he currently practices as Legal Counsel in the Office of Mergers & Acquisitions at the Ontario Securities Commission, having previously worked as a securities litigator and a corporate governance consultant.

Trevor is a community leader with a passion for diversity, equity and inclusion. He is the Chair of Start Proud/Fier Départ, a national not-for-profit that connects 2SLGBTQ+ students and new professionals from a range of disciplines to inclusive employers across Canada. In 2022, he co-founded the Canadian Association of 2SLGBTQ+ Lawyers and the first annual PRISME 2SLGBTQ+ Law Conference. 

Trevor is frequently sought after to speak on legal matters, and has guest lectured at the University of Toronto, Osgoode Hall Law School and the National University of Singapore. He has also presented at conferences and panels in New York and Amsterdam and has served as a legal advisor to a federally-supported international trade mission and two political campaigns.
