Chris earned his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School with several academic honours in 1984 and was called to the bar in 1986. He practiced constitutional, labour and administrative law with Gowlings until 1995, when he left the partnership to establish a legal department at the Power Workers’ Union, where he was General Counsel for 29 years until he retired from that position. He was also an adjunct professor at Osgoode for 21 years and the co-author of Constitutional Litigation in Canada, as well as the author of several academic papers on labour and constitutional law issues. He has sat on several private corporate boards and has been a lifetime musicophile, a longtime audience member and supporter of Orchestra Toronto – and is even old enough to have attended a few East York Symphony concerts as well.
