Orchestra Toronto Implements Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

In order to promote a safer rehearsal and performance space as we continue to adapt to COVID-19, Orchestra Toronto has established a mandatory vaccination policy for all orchestra members, staff, and volunteers:

In order to be able to attend rehearsals, all members and staff will need to provide evidence of two doses of completed vaccinations prior to September 5, 2021, Vaccine appointments are now readily available and many pharmacies allow walk-ins. If any member or staff member has only received one dose by the first rehearsal, they are welcome to join two weeks after their second dose.

Members may be exempt from this Policy for religious or medical reasons. These exemptions will be in line with public health recommendations and local laws.

Those granted permanent or temporary medical exemptions must provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test every week prior to rehearsal and wear face masks (e.g., N95s and surgical masks).  COVID-19 testing will be at their own expense.

The mandatory vaccination policy joins Orchestra Toronto’s suite of safe rehearsal and performance practices in the age of COVID-19 to help us continue to make music as safely as possible.
