Michael Lordly

Michael had the great fortune to be swept up by the nascent Halifax Music Department strings division which ultimately led to a B. Mus. at Dalhousie. Later, after a spell in the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra, becoming an architect and moving to Toronto, he spent long years in the wilderness, occasionally playing bass in blues, jazz or ska bands, including the inimitable Hopping Penguins, before finally responding to his father’s frequent query, “why aren’t you playing in an orchestra?” by dusting off the cello and finding a home in the wonderful Orchestra Toronto cello section.
