Helen Li
Helen originally wanted to learn to play the saxophone, but her grade 5 music teacher said that she must learn the clarinet first. Luckily she ended up enjoying the clarinet, taking private lessons at the Royal Conservatory of Music.
She took a hiatus from clarinet during her time at the University of Toronto, playing baritone sax in the Engineering Skule Stage Band. After graduating from chemical engineering, she has been playing clarinet, bass clarinet and contrabass clarinet in various GTA community orchestras and wind ensembles.
Helen feels very fortunate and excited to have been playing amazing repertoire with the passionate musicians of Orchestra Toronto since 2017.
